Can anyone explain to me this “song with vocals, drum track, and really odd repeating instrument phrase” thing? I mean, I can totally appreciate focusing on the vocals and everything…but xylophone? The “ding dong ding dong” on Umbrella? That bird chirp thing on Single Ladies? I mean, if they were minimalist arrangements that really let the vocals do their thing…but Single Ladies? That werp werp doesn’t even seem on time!
